Each year, Sport
Athletes of the Year are nominated by coaching staff.
These athletes have displayed,
during their
scholarship year, an exceptional level of sports performance,
a commendable attitude to competition, persistent dedication
to learning and strong community support.

2004 Hockey
Athlete of the Year - EMMA COBBIN
Emma Cobbin enjoyed a
successful year of hockey, being selected in the NSW All
Schools Team, the NSW Pre-Elite squad, NSW 2005 U’18 squad
as well as representing Australia in Indoor Hockey.
A
dedicated athlete,
Emma
is committed to improving her game. Not only is she a
good role model with a good sense of fair play and
sportsmanship, but she leads by example on the pitch and
constantly sustains high levels of performance. |

2004 Individual
Athlete of the Year - MADELINE HEINER
Madeline Heiner has had a
busy year, representing Australia on three occasions in
2004. At the Commonwealth Youth Games in Bendigo, Heiner
finished 1st in the 3km and 3rd in the
1500m, while at the World Junior Track and Field
Championships in Italy, she place 13th in the
3km. Madeline aims to continue improving her times while
studying Pharmacy at Sydney University.
Madeline has
recently been selected as the only Australian Under 20
representative at the World
Cross Country
Championships. |

2004 Netball
Athlete of the Year - JAIMIE McLEAN
At just 15 years of age, Jaimie has
progressed through the sport of netball in leaps and bounds
over the past 12 months. Selected in the NSW All Schools and
NSW CHS U16 teams, Jaimie was then picked in the Talent ID
program in the NSW Dynamos Squad.
Jaimie’s maturity shows through in her
decision-making on court will no doubt assisted her to go
far in the sport.
She
was also recognised for her
academic & sporting achievements with a Youth Leadership
Achievement Scholarship in 2004. |

2004 Rugby
League Athlete of the Year - BRAD HUDSON
Since starting out playing for under 7’s, Brad is moving
ever closer to his goal of playing
first team
in
the NRL.
Selected
in the NSW CHS U’15 team,
Brad
was
named NSW Most Valuable Player at the Australian
Championships.
He followed this selection with a spot
in the NSW U’15 team, and finally, the U’15 Australian
Schools Merit team.
